Christmas!

This was the first Christmas where could start to feel the magic of it returning. You lose that feeling when you grow up and move off to college. And before you have your own kids its just a day to hang out with family and eat yummy food and exchange gifts, which is lovely and fun, but not magical.

The magic of Christmas returns once you have your own children, and they start to understand things. This year Lucy learned where "mama Mary" and "baby Jesus" were in our window cling nativity. She seemed to understand the idea of Santa Claus. And you get to see the surprise on their face. Lucy was 28 months old this Christmas. She loved to find where our elf "Jeffy"was in the days preceding Christmas. She followed along with all the Christmas movies. I really like the Vege Tale cartoon about St Nicolas, except it always confuses me why the vege's don't have arms and legs.  Wish they would have just added that into the animation. She loved it when we read her Christmas books about Santa Claus and about the birth of Jesus.  I picked up a book that plays the music for "The First Noel" and has the words a pictures in the book. Charlie loves to press the button. Over and over. And over. Good thing it's one of my favorite songs :)

We had our own Christmas morning with just the four of us, it was really special. And then in the afternoon Blake picked up his parents from the Philadelphia Airport! I stayed home and cleaned and cooked & prepared for our trip to NYC the next day.
