AC {Atlantic City}

Atlantic City is one of those place that probably was really cool a long time ago...
But we did have a good time & enjoyed walking the boardwalk.
Walking on a ramp from the boardwalk to the beach

Annie & Papa on the Jersey Shore

Annie and her baby, getting an italian cup of coffee

It was cold so it wasn't very crowded & we had lots of photo opportunities!

Christmas Morning: part 2!

The kids got to have Christmas morning again, with all the goodies Annie & Papa got them in NYC!
Lucy got to see her American Girl Doll for the first time! They had the dolls mostly behind the counter at the store so she had no idea that she got one until the morning! Good thing kids don't pay attention to giant shopping bags being lugged around and crowded city, taking up space in their stroller :)

Now that is a lot of goodies!

Charlie got a Bear with blue PJ's (not featured in above photo)
and a Fire Truck that was delivered a couple days later!

We had a fun (& exhausting) day trip to NYC with Annie & Papa!

 We rode the train from Hamilton to Penn Station under Madison Square Garden

Also home to the best.toys.ever.

Christmas!

This was the first Christmas where could start to feel the magic of it returning. You lose that feeling when you grow up and move off to college. And before you have your own kids its just a day to hang out with family and eat yummy food and exchange gifts, which is lovely and fun, but not magical.

The magic of Christmas returns once you have your own children, and they start to understand things. This year Lucy learned where "mama Mary" and "baby Jesus" were in our window cling nativity. She seemed to understand the idea of Santa Claus. And you get to see the surprise on their face. Lucy was 28 months old this Christmas. She loved to find where our elf "Jeffy"was in the days preceding Christmas. She followed along with all the Christmas movies. I really like the Vege Tale cartoon about St Nicolas, except it always confuses me why the vege's don't have arms and legs.  Wish they would have just added that into the animation. She loved it when we read her Christmas books about Santa Claus and about the birth of Jesus.  I picked up a book that plays the music for "The First Noel" and has the words a pictures in the book. Charlie loves to press the button. Over and over. And over. Good thing it's one of my favorite songs :)

We had our own Christmas morning with just the four of us, it was really special. And then in the afternoon Blake picked up his parents from the Philadelphia Airport! I stayed home and cleaned and cooked & prepared for our trip to NYC the next day.
