Due to an overwhelming sense of sadness in being so distant from my roots - I spent today making more king cakes; Chicken, Sausage, and shrimp gumbo; and Red Beans and Rice. And playing Mardi Gras Music. And enjoying Abita. And it helped…. even though I looked outside my window to see snow…. So I sent out an invite to everyone I've met since we moved here and a few came by to taste test and chat. Having more people around made things better.
Lucy really enjoys helping with the icing!
