King Cakes

Me and my neighbor, Jessica, came together and made a double batch of traditional king cakes using my mothers recipe. We then put a little tag on the bag explaining the history/significance of them and our names and distributed them to six of our lucky neighbors! Talk about a lot of effort- This took the better part of 6 hours! 

 And Charles is the King of the King Cakes!

Philly Zoo

The weatherman said the high was 55 degrees and sunny and we decided that a warm front like that called for a visit to the Zoo! 

 Are monkeys ever not entertaining? 

 Mommy's always a sucker for carousels - especially if there isn't a line! 

 She had a blast running back and forth chasing otters through the glass walls of the sea otter habitat

 The boy is walking! Now we have two little explorers! 

 We can no longer sneak past the gift shops (not that I ever wanted to… I have always loved them) 

Lucy saw it and said "Daddy I NEED a lion!" 

Then she gave it to Charlie and got herself a leopard - after I told her that was my favorite animal. 

Gymnastics Fun

We went over to the Envision Gymnastics open play for toddlers. We met Beth and Jaimison there. The kiddos had a lot of fun! 

Lunch Date

A guy at Blakes office had an quick courthouse marriage and about 6 of the guys decided to show up in service dress and hold the swords for them to walk through when leaving the courthouse. It was a kind gesture! When we dropped Blake off at the courthouse the parking lot guard told us congratulations (he thought we were getting married) hahaha! Oh buddy- you must see all kinds of people for us to roll up in our minivan with babies crying in the back and say congrats on your wedding day! Afterwards we ate at a little local place called The Robins Nest for lunch & loved it!

Warmth with the Snow

Enjoying another wintery day - but today it was warming up and we didn't need to bundle up much!

Our 3-Course Dinner

Home Fondue in style: three courses! 

1) Cheese with apples, broccoli, and bread cubes

2) Broth with chicken stock, beer, assorted seasonings

- filet mignon, chicken, fresh shrimp, mushrooms and potatoes for cooking

3) Chocolate cooked with peanut butter and rolo's 

- strawberries and rice krispies for dipping

Bubbly for fun! 

It took a little prep and a lot of clean up, but it was soooo worth it!

Daddy's Home!

We picked up daddy from the airport and went out to dinner at Olive Garden! 

Lucy had him read every book at bedtime tonight :) 

Saying Byebye

We had to say bye-bye to Crissy today- we had so much fun spending time with her this week and hate to see her go!

Skiing!

The snow storm brought in a lot of fresh powder and it was we waited a day before going up to ski - the roads were just freshly plowed for us! 

Crissy and Lucy and Charlie got some yummy grub and hung out in the ski lodge area while mommy skied!

Bathtime Fun

Lets face it - bathtime is always fun. As a kid. Maybe not so much anymore for me as a mom when it's rushed and I keep peeking out to holler a the kids for getting into everything they shouldn't but know they can because mommy is showering… or keep having to pull the curtain back closed because they are trying to crawl in there with me…  But as a kid, bath time is fun! Except for the 20 seconds it takes to wash the shampoo out… 

 This is a fun book! Shout out to my cousin Rach for reading it to the girls when we were at the farm- We finally got our own copy & it's a fun one to animate while reading! 

Snow Day with Crissy!

 New Jersey thought it should welcome my southern mother with an arctic blast/snowstorm. 

 Mommy & Lucy built a snowman while Crissy fussed over Charlie :) He loved it (such a boy!)

Cuddles

We had lots and lots of cuddle time! 

Crissy's Visit

Daddy had to go TDY so Crissy came to hang out with us! We picked her up from the Airport today and tried out a new Italian restaurant! The kids enjoyed the pizza dough they were given to play with!
